About MCIA

Making Choices in Anaesthesia (MCIA) is a national educational initiative to enhance clinical practice in anaesthesia. Practising anaesthetists face numerous choices on a daily basis during their clinical work. Selection and use of anaesthetic agents are key considerations. MCIA is designed to assist you in the recognition of high-risk patients, and in the selection of appropriate anaesthetic techniques.

MCIA is an ANZCA approved program (Approval Number 1117).

MCIA offers different ways to earn CPD points to suit your clinical and personal learning needs from attending live meetings in capital cities, to small intimate webinars in the convenience of your own home or office. MCIA has been developed by the Allori Academy in consultation with an educational faculty from Australia and New Zealand.

All three categories of the MCIA program allow you to earn ANZCA CPD credits.
